The model makes the idea tangible. Its proportions can be held, examined and adjusted before metal enters the process.

The blue wax print and the model revealed in the green mould belong to this earring design. The workshop video records the mould being opened and the small form appearing inside.

In lost-wax casting, a temporary model is enclosed in investment and removed by heat. Metal takes its place. Casting is one stage; the surface and edges still need the attention of a jeweller.
